5k + Group
For those who can run a few kilometres at a time but would like to become more comfortable at this distance or to progress to longer distances this is the group to join. We start at around the 4/5km stage and build gradually to increase distance and pace.
Each term is 8wks long and runners can decide on the night what distance they would like to run ranging from 5k to 10k+. There will always be a few people who want to run the same distance & pace so everyone will have someone to run with for the session. For those with a race goal in mind, they will be advised on the distance they need to be running each week to prepare for their race distance.
All running sessions will include a warm-up and cool-down and general advice about running. Runners will be encouraged to maintain their fitness levels by doing other runs/aerobic exercise during the week.
